Born in Flames
The awesome Honey as a radio broadcaster and the compelling Jean Satterfield were among those who starred in "Born in Flames" and apparently nothing else. They are great.
What an experience to watch "Born in Flames," the ultra-low-budget, radical intersectional feminist revolutionary sci-fi from 1983, in 2025. Thank you Criterion Collection for putting this movie in front of me. It's scathing, fearless and smart, and filmmaker Lizzie Borden spared no effort in finding people who made the movie feel very real and raw. It views like a documentary. I feel everyone behind this movie or in it would be so disappointed but not surprised about how society is going right now. All the issues it brings up still exist. All the conversations the characters have about a protest they participate in were the same things said in 2020 about the Women's March. Anyway, I would like to sign up for the Women's Army and do vengeance from my bicycle seat.
